How is this possible? Simply this. There is No rule in the Anime denying possession of Two Zanpaktous. Infact, it is also proven that Zanpaktou Ownership may be transferred. (In this case, Tousen's Zanpaktou was originally a woman's that he apparently was in love with.)

So no Ichi, you won't be able to throw out Zangetsu as soon as you play.

Another example is that Ichigo's Zanpaktou was actually Rukia's in the first place o.0

Eh, yes and no. I suppose you could consider Ichigo's Zanpaktou originally Rukia's, but, seeing as it was able to transform into Zangetsu, and Rukia Zanpaktou more or less popped back out...

But, yeah Kin, I didn't really think of it that way before.
